Student Council

Family Math Nights - Our Math Committee sponsors two family math nights each school year. Kaiser parents and children, with the help of Kaiser staff and WRHS math students, enjoy working on a variety of math problems together. One special benefit for families is making math games and projects to take home to continue math learning. Math—measurement, estimation, calculation, geometry, telling time, and budgeting money—is a necessary everyday skill.

Science Fair - Each year, Kaiser students from kindergarten through fifth grade are involved in the Science Fair. Our younger students usually participate in either class projects or small group projects, while our upper el students are expected to complete individual projects. Participation is mandatory and students' science projects are part of their overall science grade for that report period.

This years' Science Fair judging was held on Tuesday, April 22, 2008. All third, fourth, and fifth grade students were required to submit an entry as part of their final science grade for this school year. Kindergarten, first, and second graders submitted group projects.
The judges, who were members of the community, were impressed with the interesting projects submitted. They were astounded at our students’ level of knowledge and understanding and couldn’t say enough about the quality of the projects.
Our families obviously spent a lot of time and energy helping students to prepare for this event which we believe to be one of the strongest and most lasting learning experiences elementary school students have. We appreciate their interest and continued support.

Science Night Hosted for Kaiser Students
To help prepare students for the Science Fair and to give families ideas about projects and experiments that can be done, the Kaiser staff holds a Family Science Night.
Staff members demonstrate possible experiments and explain how a science board is created.   Students and their families can try some of the experiments to get ideas for their own projects.
Community members and other friends of Kaiser School will be invited to judge the projects that will soon be placed on display in the gymnasium. First, second, and third place ribbons are determined for students at each grade level. However, each participant will receive a participant ribbon.
We are looking forward to the Kaiser Science Fair which will begin the week of April 21.

Student Council Officers - Kaiser students performed their civic duty by casting their votes for student council officers.

This group of leaders will work together to improve the educational experience of students at Henry J. Kaiser Elementary School. Our Student Council will act as a student forum in which officers and representatives are encouraged to become involved in planning, implementing, and evaluating activities and events which benefit the student body as a whole.
